Assured Fire Safety Consultancy at Queen Mary's College Career Fair
The team at Assured Fire Safety Consultancy Ltd were delighted to attend the recent Careers Fair at Queen Mary’s College in Basingstoke. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet and speak with many enthusiastic and inspiring students who were exploring their future career pathways.
Throughout the event, we had some great conversations with students about the wide range of opportunities available within the fire safety industry. Fire safety is a vital profession that helps protect lives, buildings, and communities, yet it is often a career path that many young people may not have previously considered. Events like this provide an important platform to raise awareness of the sector and the many rewarding roles it offers.
We spoke with students about several potential routes into the industry, including careers as Fire Risk Assessors, Fire Engineers, and specialists in Fire Door Inspections and Passive Fire Engineering. Each of these roles plays a crucial part in ensuring that buildings are designed, maintained, and managed to meet essential fire safety standards.
It was encouraging to see such strong interest from students who were keen to learn more about the technical, practical, and problem-solving aspects of fire safety careers. The industry continues to evolve, and it needs skilled and passionate individuals who are interested in making a real difference to safety in the built environment. We even created a personality quiz to see what pathway would suit them best!
A big thank you to Queen Mary’s College for hosting such a well-organised event and for inviting us to take part. We look forward to continuing to support initiatives that encourage young people to explore careers in fire safety.
